History of the Manistee shoreline showcase
The Manistee ShoreLine ShowCase began in 2002 with a simple conversation between Lyn and Loren Houtman, inspired by a concert organized by Tim Scully in Baldwin.
Their vision to bring similar cultural events to Manistee took shape when drummer Tom Amor Jr. and others joined forces. Spearheaded by Scully's proposal and Lyn Houtman's meticulous support, the initiative gained momentum.
Starting with an abbreviated series, the concerts at First Street beach soon expanded into a beloved eleven-week summer tradition.
Now celebrating its 24th year, the ShowCase owes its success to various community members who have served as committee chairs and countess volunteers who have dedicated their time, resources, and logistical expertise to nurturing the event's growth and ensuring its enduring impact on Manistee's cultural landscape.
The Manistee ShoreLine ShowCase has become a cultural fixture, supported by ongoing community dedication and contributions.
